At Two Magpies, our blackberry jam is made in small batches with seasonal fruit, so ever jar is packed with rich, dark berry flavour and just the right amount of tang.
But great jam deserves more than just toast. Here are 5 delicious ways to make the most of it.
Swirl into cheesecake
Add spoonfuls of blackberry jam to the top of your cheesecake filling before setting/baking and swirl through with a knife. You’ll get beautiful ripples and a burst of tart fruit against the creamy filling.
Glaze for roasted meats
Warm a few spoonfuls of blackberry jam with balsamic vinegar and some red wine, then brush over roast pork, chicken, or ham for a glossy, fruity glaze.
Fill Danish pastries or croissants
A dollop of blackberry jam in the centre of a Danish or tucked inside a croissant adds a sharp and sweet surprise. Take a look at our other pastry flavour pairings here [link to danish pastry flavour pairings]
Stir in porridge or yogurt
Jam doesn’t need to stay on bread. Stir a spoonful into hot porridge or swirl into thick yoghurt for an easy breakfast.
Stir into a cocktail
Blackberry jam makes a brilliant shortcut to a cocktail syrup. Just shake a spoonful into gin, vodka or even prosecco, and you’ll get instant colour, sweetness and a hit of tart berry flavour. It’s perfect for a quick bramble-style drink at home, no fancy kit required.
